Supporting Communities

Our Supporting Communities programme supports smaller charities and community organisations working at grassroots level with one-off small grants.

Organisations may only apply once per calendar year for this grant.

Application Process

Submit your application


  • We will email you to acknowledge receipt within a week of receiving your application.
  • This email will include a reference number; please include this in any correspondence.


  • We review all applications, and during this time we may contact you if we need to clarify any information.
  • Once we have assessed your application, we will let you know whether or not your application is going forward.
  • Decisions on awarding grants are made three-monthly by the Staff Committee.
  • Within two weeks of the Staff Committee meeting we will email you, notifying you of the outcome.
  • Please be patient and wait for us to contact you with the outcome, as we cannot provide information sooner, even if you email.

How to apply

Applications can be submitted at any time. There are no deadlines.

We assess applications as they are received. It will take up to three months from submission for you to hear the outcome, although you will know within six weeks if your application is going forward to be considered.

Please ensure you read our full guidelines before starting your application and to help you prepare your online submission, you can download an editable PDF version of the application form.

Applications must be made using our application form and submitted online. Only completed online applications will be considered. Please do not email or post ad hoc funding requests.

When you are certain your application is complete and you have attached all the information we have asked for in the application form, press the submit button at the end of the form. Please note that once you have submitted the form, you will not be able to make any changes.

We acknowledge all the applications we receive. If you send us an application and have not heard from us by email after two weeks, please contact us at to check whether your application has arrived.
